I had a milder version play out for me this weekend when Jonathan went to a friends birthday party. Jonathan couldn't resist showing his excitment for the party and while he was gone I had Evan following me around crying the whole day, when Jonathan spent the night it was worse! If I could go back and just let Evan think Jonathan was at school or somewhere like that I would soooo do it. I nearly pulled my hair out that day.

Alice!! OMG Great to see you and I notice at the bottom you have a grandDAUGHTER!!!! WOW you finally have a girl!!!
My opinon on Palin after much research because believe me I WANTED to vote for her. Palin is a Pentecostal that defined herself as "as Pro-Life as a candidate can be." (but ironically she is a strong supporter of the death penalty) She is against same-sex marriage and supports an amendment to the constitution to ban it. She also supports a constitutional amendment to stop same-sex couples from getting state health benefits. As Mayor, she tried to get books with "inappropriate language" banned from the local library, and threatened the librarians job when he or she would not support her in her medieval crusade against freedom. She strongly supports teaching Creationism in schools. She even filed a lawsuit to get Polar Bears removed from the endangered species list. She opposes Stem Cell research. Voted against granting same-sex couples spousal benefits. Voted to abolish hate crimes legislation. Thinks morals should be taught in school. Supports allowing parents to opt their children out of school classes and/or material if they find it offensive. She is the ultimate right wing nut.
Sarah Palin; (discussing the troops going into Iraq) "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God." - "I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
What about seperation of church and state? For many of you, you may read her veiws and be even more commited to voting for McCain Palin. I just wonder how people who claim to want "less government involvment" vote for more religiously motivated legislation and to force their version of morality on the minority of American's. How is the government LESS involved in that?

A, Tennessee just got the same program put in place as Florida and California so just as I left it got better. They still did TONS more than alabama before they changed.
Renee the waiting list here is that long too! In Tennessee they are suppose to have everyone off the waiting list and receiving services by July of 09.
CC. It's good to "see" you!!!

I will vote for Obama. When Sarah Palin was nominated for VP I had a few days of weakness really wanting to vote for not only the first woman vp but for a woman that had a child with Down syndrome, but in my experience when Democrats are in office things are better for children with disabilities, things are better in the school districts and government is LESS involved in our individual rights. People can shove all the facts they want at me to prove "republican's care" but when for the last eight years there has been a mortoreum on nearly every program that helps children with special needs I'm ready for some of that change Obama talks about.

I moved from Tennessee to Alabama last December and I have found that services in Alabama are horrible. Alabama Medicade will not pay for diapers unless your child can not walk and they will not pay for nutrition supplements unless your child is tube fed.
I don't understand how states can vary so much in the services they provide for families of children with special needs.
There was a lawsuit for school districts because rural area schools didn't receive the funding that schools in the city did. There was a supreme court ruling that every child should be entitled to the same level of education regardless of where they lived and extra money was awarded to the schools in small towns. I wonder is there any way to pursue a claim against a state like Alabama that would raise their level of services up to meet that of other states.
There is a world of difference living here. I am to the point of moving back to Tennessee which I would really hate to do because of the situation I have here for my younger two boys.
I feel so pulled between what's best for Kaden and whats best for my family as a whole.

I am at my Mom's for a few minutes and had to stop by and try to see how everyone is doing. I miss you all so much! I thought I would be back online by now but one thing after another keeps me from getting a computer. Kaden is doing very well. He has a new teacher and a new room and TONS of services he didn't have last year. OHHH ANd the witch special ed director retired although I ended up with a new one with NO experiance and almost as bad as the other. All in all Kaden's school situation is wonderful now. I think it all came together after the mapping we had back last year. Hearing the affection for Kaden in the voices of people that worked with him and really talking thing out in a way an IEP just isn't formatted to be like was such a step forward in my relationship with the school. Jonathan is in special ed this year too. He has ADHD and is taking Straterra now and is doing wonderful. He is even in Kadens class for an hour and it has improved their relationship so much. Jonathan see's Kaden at school doing school stuff and he is proud of him and proud that he is his brother. Evan is a dream come true. He is our middle of the road baby. Jonathan is 97 lbs and 5 Kaden is 50 pounds and 11 years old and Evan just slides right in between not too big not too little at 22 pounds and he is 17 months old now. I call my like Hakunna Matata land since Evan was born. With all the stress we have been under I look at my boys and feel like the luckiest person alive. John my DH has a Chiari malformation and an inflammed right lobe in his brain he is going to have Brain surgery pretty soon. He has been off work for the last two months and I am afraid he may never be able to go back to work. He was being a grumpy old bear the weeks before we found out he had something wrong with him. He kept complaining of a headache that was so bad he couldn't function and me being so wrapped up in the kids I was flusterated with him for being such a baby. I told him if he was a dog I'd have done had him put to sleep. Needless to say when I found out what was wrong I felt awful but I tell you when a MAN is sick NO one can be sane!!! He nearly drove me NUTS Oh well I have to go I wish I could tell you all everything that has been going on and read about all of you guys. I will try again next week. Miss you all so much Radonna

I talked to A tonight and wanted to come by and see what everyone here was up to.
Kaden is doing awesome we moved to Huntsville this past christmas so Kaden started at a new school. He goes to the Academy for the Academics and Arts. It's a really cool Magnet school. He's fit in there perfectly. He's still such a little guy it's hard to believe he is going to be 14 in two months!!!!!

I've read this before and it still turns my stomache. The value of life is NOT subjective it is absolute. I guess our government that pays ridiculous amounts of money to fund pet projects wants to save a little by killing people that don't matter to them. It's just very sad.

Thank you Susan for missing me! LOL Things have changed allot for us in the last year and I am now the Mother of a TEENAGER! Kaden turned 13 in April. He is really happy at school and is doing very well. Jonathan and Evan are doing great too. Evan will go to Preschool this year. He is Kaden's voice he tells me all the time what Kaden wants. Mostly they are his Ideas but when he says "doncha bubba" Kaden usually nods his head. Kaden's still my go with the flow guy he's just as sweet now as 7 years ago when I first found unomas. I call this one the god father picture
