Tempting... ;D ;D ;D VERY tempting!!! Like Susan said, by the time Feb/Mar rolls around I have had it up to my eyeballs with snow and winter!!! Unfortunately that is quite literally the case here in Buffalo!!! I'll be doing as much OT at work as I can so I'll be starting an envelope labeled the "Shuffle Out of Buffalo" Fund!!! ;D ;D ;D Almost anyplace that doesn't have snow sounds great to me and if there's a beach all the better!!! Still haven't been able to figure out if I'm going to be able to swing this trip BUT Best Western sounds just fine to me. After all it's you guys that are the reason to be there..... a nice pool is just icing on the cake!

Not sure yet if we're going to make it ( I'm really hoping to since we had such a great time in Sandusky with everyone!!! ) BUT I say go for the Holidome in Dayton. Cincinatti would add way too much time for me to do the trip alone with the kids ( Can you say Barb would leave Buffalo with 3 kids and arrive in Cincinatti with no more than 1?!?!?). Gotta start stashing away some hard cash here! Looks like I'll be doing some extra hours at work!

Okay guys, did some checking about picnic site possibilities. This one looks very promising, here's a link to it: www.eriemetroparks.comIf it doesn't come up for Osborne Park, just select that one. I called and talked to people at the park. They said that it is about a 15 to 20 minute ride from where we are staying. There is no open water for us to worry about! They don't have any shelters available BUT she did tell me about 2 areas that sound pretty darn good...... One is a group of picnic tables that are very near a playground AND restrooms. It is near a shelter that a graduation party will be going on. The other is at an ampitheater. There is a grill, a couple of picnic tables and restrooms aren't "too far away". One drawback is that the amphitheater seating is concrete step-like setup. We would have to walk a bit to this area from where we can park. One thing they did mention is that parking will be at a premium because they have a wedding, a birthday party, and the graduation party. So it sounds like we'd need to get there pretty early to park and stake out our territory!!! Since I'm planning on getting to the hotel mid afternoon, I'll try to take a run over there and check out both areas. I did ask if they could suggest any other parks that would suit us but they came up blank - seems almost every other park is along the lakeshore or some other body of water! Can't wait to really meet everybody!!! Barb

Ummmm....... Susan......... Hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but....... Upper Sandusky isn't all that close to where our hotel is..... it's considerably south of where we'll be, about 50 miles away or about half way to Columbus, OH! First thing in the morning I'm heading over to AA to get one of their books for Ohio - maybe they'll even have something for right around the area we'll be in..... I'll post up on what I can find out, one way or the other!!! Barb

Finally got an answer at work. They will not be getting Cedar Point tickets, apparently the price they were not offered any discount so it wasn't worth getting them. I plan on checking at our local AAA office to see what their discount would be. I'll post up on that info when I have it.

Just a thought here...... I may be able to get Cedar Point tickets through the hospital where I work for a better price. I know the last time a group of us from work tried to plan a trip there they were less than the group rate at the time (that was 2 years ago). I'll check into it and post what ever prices I can get. I would be able to get as many as we may need. Barb

Hi Joyce,
I know we are going to be shuffling in from Buffalo to Cedar Point. I'm still waiting to hear at work what price we can get tickets for.... hopefully I'll know in the next week or so!

This hotel sounds just fine to us too! As far as I'm concerned almost anyplace that doesn't involve tents and/or outhouses is great! Can you guys tell I hate camping?!? Barb

I love the idea of a picnic (and Birthday party for Morgan!!) on Saturday. We too will probably skip the water park in favor of just hanging around the hotel pool area and I know I would definitely prefer to do Cedar Point on Friday - if it's anything like the parks around here the weekends are ridiculously crowded and so much time is wasted standing in lines!!!
